The upcoming session of MSA^ will take place in Los Angeles for approximately two and half weeks in September 2026.
MSA^ is an intensive, full-time program predicated on encounter and exchange rather than material production. There are no studio facilities and no designated times for making work. The curriculum demands a total commitment to presence; students must be fully available for the entire duration of the session. Late arrivals, early departures, or parallel commitments cannot be accommodated.
There are no fees for enrollment or attendance. For those traveling from outside Los Angeles, basic shared housing is provided for the duration of the program. However, students remain responsible for their own travel to and from the city, as well as all meals and personal expenses.
International students are responsible for their own visa arrangements, as the school does not provide sponsorship or assistance in this process. As the program is fewer than 90 days in length, many participants are able to enter the United States on a tourist visa; requirements vary by country and individual circumstance.
Applications for MSA^2026 open February 25, 2026 and close April 20, 2026. Admissions decisions will be shared by late May. Upon acceptance, the school can provide a formal confirmation letter to support grant applications or external funding requests.
